EntreAdu - Promoting Entrepreneurs with Migrant Backgrounds on Online Gamified Platforms

About the Project

EntreAdu aims to empower young adults with migrant backgrounds to develop social entrepreneurship competencies and create their own enterprises. To achieve this we use the method of Gamification – an innovative model of training that uses game elements in non-gaming environments to raise the engagement and motivation of learners.

This project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union

The EntreAdu project was launched to address a critical gap in adult education for learners with migrant backgrounds.

Many adult educators lack the tools, methods, and confidence to effectively teach social entrepreneurship—a skill set that can empower migrants to create their own employment opportunities and contribute to society. Migrants often face systemic challenges such as social exclusion, limited access to the labor market, and lack of tailored educational pathways. EntreAdu responds to these needs by developing a flexible, accessible, and gamified framework that promotes the EntreComp competencies through engaging tools. It combines self-assessment, digital learning, and inclusive methodologies to support educators in delivering entrepreneurial education that is both impactful and motivating. The project also fosters collaboration and shared learning across Europe, helping create a more inclusive and innovative adult education ecosystem.

Objectives & Implementation

The key objective of the project was to design and implement a complete educational framework that enhances the capacity of adult educators in entrepreneurship training. This was achieved through a combination of innovative methods and transnational cooperation. At the heart of the project lies the use of gamification – the application of game elements in non-game contexts – to boost learner motivation, engagement, and retention.

The project was implemented through close collaboration among seven partners from six countries, ensuring a strong exchange of practices, cultural perspectives, and expertise. The outcomes were shaped by continuous feedback from the target group, and all deliverables were made available in multiple languages to support accessibility.

Throughout the project’s life cycle, the partners developed and validated four major outputs:

  • A Framework on Social Entrepreneurship Education, grounded in the EntreComp (Entrepreneurship Competence) framework.

  • A Gamified Self-Assessment Tool for educators to reflect on and monitor their teaching competencies.

  • An Open Online Course (OOC), providing interactive content and activities to improve educators’ knowledge and teaching methods.

  • A series of Multiplier Events and Dissemination Activities, aiming to ensure long-term use and sustainability of the results.

EntreAdu is an example of how innovation and inclusivity can meet in education to equip learners and educators alike with the tools to shape a more socially responsible future.
